Sunset over the sea

Early start again this morning with another dawn surf. Conditions were more favourable for the early session with nice glassy little lefts at Padang and not too shallow either. No crowds around however the monkeys came out to play grabbing what they could as they scurried along the beach. Water said to be ‘too cold’ for some British clients as their teeth chattered all the way back to the camp with some even wearing jumpers and long pants! A sight we don’t see often but great for a laugh! The camp said goodbye to a few faces and hello to a few more today as we all chilled around the pool before heading down to Balangan for an afternoon session. Crowds were minimal and the sets were big! Some were up to 3 metres with onshore winds and clear clear water. We had a great spot to sit the beginners once the tide rolled in and the sets settled down. There were a few great wipeouts and lots of cheering from everyone as those precious ‘first waves’ were captured. As the sun came down on another beautiful day in Bali we drank beers till the sun set over the sea then headed back to camp for a big dinner and an early night… we have to do it all again tomorrow…tough I know but someone’s got to do it!
