Sunrise and set over the sea

Today was another early start with a few light showers and lots of clouds to start the day. We drove to Nusa Dua with 2 carloads at 5.30 this morning, the clouds parted for our arrival and we got a beautiful sunrise over the sea (todays picture). With the tide getting low the first session was cut short. The guys got in some decent waves and despite the jellyfish now on this side of the island, they had a good surf, surfing both Mushroom Rock and Black Stone. A group decision was made and we headed back to the camp for breakfast. Advanced guys surfed Uluwatu this morning with some reportedly nice fast rights and not too much of a crowd. After breakfast we all chilled around the pool with even a few bintangs floating around. Perfect spot in the blow up chair, with sunnies and a bintang, in the pool- perfect. Advanced guys came back and some went down to the local Jiwa Juice for a ‘Traveller” breakfast and a “close-out” smoothie- both highly recommended. When those dozing around the pool woke up we loaded up both cars again and headed to Balangan for an afternoon session. The waves were on the small side but the afternoon was perfect- slight cloud coverage to ease your eyes but still enough to warm you, waves not too crowded and everyone giving off good vibes in the water having a laugh and catching some waves. We stayed for the sunset (again over the ocean- not too many places you can see it rise and set over the sea in the same day) ahhhh where else but Rapture Surf Camp Bali!
