Balangan good times

Today we had yet another early morning with 5.30am start at Balangan. With high tide coming in at 6am we were quick to jump into the water and get started. The sun was out and the waves were cranking. We surfed a good few hours for the morning session, with some nice lefts rolling in. There were a few big sets that came through and continued to rise as the tide went out. The guys were out of the water and into a classic Balangan breakfast- banana pancakes with fresh fruit salad and a Balinese coffee. The sun was shining so the guys all laid out in the sun soaking up their last few days off Indonesian sunshine. We watched the bigger sets begin to roll in as the tide slowly crept out. After a few paddled out and proved the waves were just as good the first session, everyone was grabbing their boards, booties and heading for the water. Second session was just as fun. Some pretty big wipeouts in there and a lot of laughs. When the tide was creeping below the knees and we began to see the reef we packed it in and were ready for lunch. Balangan Nasi Campur, great meal with a bit of bite. We laid back out in the sun watching the pro’s tear it up in the shallow low tide sets until it was time to head back to camp for some swimming in the pool and some duck diving lessons. An attempt to duck dive a blow up pool toy failed but was a good laugh. After a tasty home cooked meal we all chilled for some beers, movies, chess and good vibes!
