Surfin Balangan

Today the camp was able to sleep in and enjoy a nice breakfast before we headed out for surf at 9am. The morning was eventful, with some guys leaving us to continue on their travels. As we loaded up the cars everyone gave their hugs, got their photos and said their goodbyes. We were waves out of the camp as the girls stood at the driveway, cheering ready to jump into their taxi. Initially we planned to surf our secret spot as we did yesterday, but the final decision was made as we were driving to the spot to head to Balangan. Padang is still small and to beat the crowds we headed to the beautiful Balangan Beach. The sun was poking its head in and out of the clouds all day. The swell was 2ft and grew to 3ft on the high tide. Our first session was great with the guys catching some killer waves, seeing great improvement. With the break so close to the shore I was able to get some great photos too! When the guys had had enough they paddled in for some banana and pineapple juices- a Balangan special and some Cap Cay. Second session was a little difficult with the winds picking up, heavily on-shore the swell got bumpy and inconsistent. Good day overall though ending with a sunset bintangs in Uluwatu. Owww yeeeaah!
