Sunday night barbecue

Today after we were one surf guide down due to a new baby arrival, (congratulations Made!), we headed off back to Balangan. With a local surf competition being held in crowded Padang Padang, we had a whole section to ourselves in Balangan. The swell was up and the waves were beautiful. Clean glassy 2 metre sets rolling in from the point. With a few clouds hanging around in the morning the water looked a little uninviting. After some banana pancakes and fresh fruit salad, the sun arrived and we waxed up and headed out. There were some great sets in the session with long clean lefts going for ages and our guys catching them. As the offshore wind picked up we paddled in for some relaxation. Advanced surfers headed to Uluwatu this morning to find perfect 2 metre sets and a smaller than usual crowd. Beginners spent the whole day in Balangan soaking up the sun and enjoying the beach life.  As the tide rolled out the advanced surfers paddled out to the point and enjoyed the low tide swell. We headed back to camp and watched a few movies before it was time for our weekly Sunday night barbecue. We had char-grilled pork, fresh fish, pasta, salad and bintangs. Great food, great tunes and really great company.
