Today with the way the tides are moving we were back to the good ole 5am wave up call for a 5.30am surf. First few times are a little tough but when your sitting out on your board watching the sun rise over the cliffs of Padang- it’s totally worth it! With Bali summer on its way and the winter slowly fading out the water is warming up and making those early surfs better to ease into. With the swell size still hanging around the waves this morning were 3-4ft and quite bumpy. Padang left was going off and was a great spectacle for our beginner surfers having front row seats in the channel to the right. The guys took to the white wash for the morning session and had plenty of fun. Stomachs were grumbling and soon enough it was time to head back to the camp for breakfast. Our intermediate guys had a little less luck with waves today, travelling to Honeymoons only to find flat surf. They then went to Dreamland where the wind had changed and on-shore mess turned them off the spot. Back to the camp for lunch and some surf DVDs. Second session for beginners was back at Padang while our intermediates surfed Balangan with 3ft clean sets. Meeting tonight at the camp with a full run down on rips, tides, channels, breaks and anything else they want to know!
