Monkeys and bintangs

Today with the tides being high in the afternoon there was a chilled relaxed vibe at the camp all morning. Everyone slowly woke up, enjoyed a long breakfast. Some watched The Simpsons, some lounged around the pool while others went back to bed for a morning nap. When the time came we all loaded our boards onto the car and headed down to Padang beach to see what the swell was doing today. On a morning check at 9am on the low tide the swell looked clean with a light wind and nice little 2ft sets. Once we got down onto the beach the swell was bumpy with a medium cross-shore wind and 3ft sets with some 4ft on the high tide. Amazing how swell can change so quickly like that. After having to wait for the tide to become full the guys were keen as to hit the water. First session was great with the crowd low and waves all to ourselves. After a quick feed and some stretching second session was underway and once the larger swell died off after high tide there were some clean 3footers rolling in and plenty of white wash for the foamies to catch. Bit of excitement on the beach today with a monkey running through the Warung, sending some jumping onto the tables and screaming with laughter. The whole beach found it very entertaining. Sunset Bintangs before heading home for some Mie-Goreng and a DVD. Mmmhhmmm.
