Sunrise surf, sunset surf

This morning we all got up while it was still dark and thanked for the moon for the dawn break high tide. Alarms were set for 5am and we were down at the beach by 6. We were the only ones on the beach give or take a few monkeys. At high tide the swell looked good with 2-3ft sets rolling in giving a few close outs but mostly clean surf. We had ever sized board you could imagine in the water this morning from a 5 11 to a bright and colourful 9footer and foam boards and malibus in between. The water was a little cold this morning and took a bit of psyching up to get in but once the guys started catching waves the water temperature was not an issue. Watching the sunrise over the cliffs and beam across the sea is an absolutely beautiful way to start the day! After our morning session we headed back to camp for a well-earned breakfast. The next session was at 1pm so in the interim some soaked up some rays, some watched DVDs and some shot some Zzz’s before their next session. Session two was a nice afternoon with small swell and lots of waves caught by everyone. These big days take it out of us! Early to bed tonight as we’ve got another dawn break tomorrow. Surfing before the sun oooh yeah!
