Sunrise and sunset surf

Today we had another early start, with a larger crew then yesterday rolling out of bed and getting keen to surf. To be on holidays and get out of bed at 5am is quite an effort but the reward of surfing watching the sunrise and new day begin is sooo worth it! So we loaded up the vans and headed to our home break Padang. This morning the break was cleaner than previous days, 2ft with some 3ft sets on the high and still a rip and medium cross-shore winds. With the weather still being overcast the water looked a little chilly but once the guys were in and battling the current they warmed up very quickly! After a full morning sunrise session we headed back to the camp for some fuel! Pancakes, jaffles and omelettes all round…oh and coffee! Our intermediate boys joined us for breakfast after they surfed Uluwatu in the morning returning with good vibes. The second session for beginners wasn’t until 3pm so the rest of day was chilling, some pool time and visits to local restaurants for lunch. Second session the wind had picked up and the waves were quite bumpy along with a strong current. The guys battled it out though. Surfing until the sun came down then having a well deserved bintangs. Out for dinner tonight to the lovely Ulu Thai Restaurant. Curry served in a coconut anyone?
