Big Padang waves

Today with the tides being high early we were all up at 5.30am ready and rearing. With the swell still hanging around after the Rip Curl Pro yesterday, Padang beach was not an option so we headed to the beautiful Jimbaran Bay where we were greeted with a warm colourful sunrise on arrival. Jimbaran swell was perfect size for our first time beginners but looked a little whimpy for some. One car stayed at Jimbaran while the other headed out to a bigger spot. The waves in Jimbaran were perfect and with the sun rising over the land it supplied a perfect backlight for some great first wave photos. There were so many waves caught this morning. With our surf instructor working like a machine, push after push, like clockwork. Big smiles coming out of the water with everyone having a really good session. The boys who went elsewhere bit off a little more than they could chew and came back to the camp for breakfast quite fatigued but still had a great session. Breakfast was busy busy with everybody meeting each other and discussing the morning surf. There was a 3pm surf time on the cards and so in the interim people lazed around the pool listening to reggae and watching surf movies. Afternoon session we went to Padang where the swell was still a little large with 2-3ft sets coming in, sometimes 4ft. White wash it was for everybody and a great way to end the day.
