Padang lefts and Kuta tales

Today began at 5.30am with the beginners hitting up Padang for some nice small long rolling lefts. The clouds hung around for the morning but soon disappeared for a nice hot sunny day. Despite the time of day and the unwarming weather the guys had a great early session and caught some really nice waves. We then headed back to camp for breakfast where some sore heads were emerging from the dorms with tales of Kuta and the night out. Reports were all good with a few funny tales to be told. With the tide conditions we weren’t going back out again until after lunch. Most chilled by the pool with a few cool (non-alcoholic) drinks, some were still in bed and some ventured out on scooters to hunt the local restaurants. Surfing time came around and we loaded up the van and headed back to Padang while others slept by the pool nursing their hangover into the afternoon. It was another great session this afternoon with a crowded beach but uncrowded waves. The swell picked up a little too and some nice sets rolled in. Even a few nice long lefts like yesterday! As the sun began to set we slowly numbered off out of the water and sat at the local warung on the beach with a bintang each. Out for dinner tonight to a local Thai restaurant. We packed out the place with a full long table. Great food, great company and some lemongrass eating dares! Great times at Rapture Surf Camp!
